Ian Baker - Agent
Trustworthiness, a penchant for detail and dedicated customer service are paramount in aircraft maintenance - work Ian Baker excelled in for twenty five plus years - and they are also characteristics he relies on as a real estate agent for CIR in Calgary.
"You have to be reliable and committed to getting the job done right when you are working on someone’s aircraft: they are putting their life in your hands," Ian says. "For me, it’s the same in real estate, I’m responsible for helping someone with one of the biggest financial decisions you can make, and I take that very seriously."
And Ian has a keen eye for detail, in workmanship and in the fine print. "In aviation the rules and regulations govern everything. You read and re-read just to be sure," he says. "In real estate, whether it’s paint lines on the ceiling in a show home or omissions in a document, I’m one to notice those details and I’ll bring them to my client’s attention."
Accustomed to being available to clients at all hours of the day, Ian appreciates that real estate doesn’t run on a schedule, there are no after hours, and what’s most important is the client. "Customers service is my priority, and that’s never a nine to five proposition," he says.
Ian also knows that understanding clients means really listening to what they have to say, and he’s keen to get it right. "My goal is to help people get what they want, to provide them with a level of service that is so impressive, they can’t help but spread the word," he says.
